Creativity & Co-Creation

Design Playbook (Tools & Practices)

Stakeholder Mapping: Identify all who are impacted — and invite them into the process.

World Café: Small-group dialogues where ideas circulate and build across tables.

Design Charrette: Collaborative design sprint with multiple disciplines in the room.

Open Space Technology: Participants set the agenda, creating ownership of outcomes.

Mindset (Reflection & Journaling)

Do I see creativity as “mine” or “ours”?

Whose voices am I unintentionally excluding from the process?

What might I learn if I invited the very people I fear will disagree?

Provocation:

“Creativity is magnified in community. Alone we may go faster, but together we go further.”

Facilitation Principle

As a facilitator, your role is to design for participation. Creativity blossoms in co-creation when all voices are invited, respected, and amplified. This means creating psychologically safe spaces, balancing contributions, and ensuring that power does not silence possibility.

Facilitator’s Mantra: “I create the circle where every voice matters.”

Facilitation Toolkit (Methods & Activities)

Round Robin Sharing → Everyone contributes one idea before open discussion.

Appreciative Inquiry Interviews → Paired conversations to uncover strengths and aspirations.

Collaborative Prototyping → Teams co-build rough models instead of debating concepts.

Role Rotation → Rotate participants into roles (e.g., sceptic, dreamer, implementer) to broaden perspectives.

Consensus Workshop → Use visual clustering and voting to converge on collective priorities.
